Welcome to Katmere Academy a boarding school full of monsters and one mortal. After a tragic accident, Grace is now an orphan moving all the way to snowy Alaska from sunny California. She will be finishing out her senior year at the school run by headmaster Foster or as she calls him Uncle Finn. Her world will be flipped upside down in this new and strange environment as she soon comes to find out she is not living amongst other normal high schoolers.
For me Crave was truly captivating. This pretty decent sized book was glued to my hands, I couldn’t set it down! Something was constantly going on to have me turning the pages. Tracy Wolff did an excellent job at allowing all the chapters to flow together.
Beginning this book I did not know what to expect. I love The Vampire Diaries and thought this sounded right up my ally. (If you like the Vampire Diaries & Twilight this book is for you!) There were so many plot twists, which some hand my mouth hanging wide open! I truly thought this was written well and loved every minute of it.
Lets talk about what I loved in this book! First off, I am a sucker for a mean boy having a soft spot for that special girl. In this case, Jaxon Vega is the super handsome, charming, morally grey, male character that we all love. He portrays the super tough exterior for everyone to see and make him seem invincible, besides Grace who sees right through him and all his antics, because they can relate to each other. Their love for each other will blossom throughout the story and it was my favorite part. Something about the boarding school setting I love. It exclusive, secret, and has that dark academia aesthetic. Tracy really pulled out all the plot twists. Since the book was pretty long I was thankful for the fact that she had many characters portrayed as the villain’s. It kept the book interesting.
Some cons about the book… I do feel it can get a bit repetitive. Since it’s so long you start to feel like the same lines and descriptions are repeating. If you like spicy books, this might not be your favorite. Their is lotssss of kissing and admiration but that’s about as far as it goes. This read for sure falls into the teen reads category.
Overall, I really loved this book and already bought the second book! Again, if you love the Vampire Diaries TV show or Twilight I think you will really enjoy this read as well.
