If you haven’t ever been to Clearwater Beach, you have most likely heard of it. This is always a hoping spring break spot and super touristy beach area. Having lived in Florida only twenty minutes from Clearwater I am here to give an epic locals guide to a day at Clearwater Beach!
Todays Tasks
Walk Pier 60
Pier 60 is always a busy area and is the central spot of clearwater beach. You can take a lovely stroll down the pier to get a glimpse of the crystal blue green water and the miles of white sand beach. Events are frequently held on and around the pier as well (head over to the Pier 60 Facebook page, here). Small local vendors set up along the pier in the afternoons and sell fun small goodies that are always fun to look at. If you are looking for a beautiful view of the sunset, Pier 60 is the place to be!

Shop
This is probably an obvious one, I mean who doesn’t love to shop and buy cute things! If you are looking for cute jewelry and love supporting local business, I recommend heading to the pier when the vendors set up. I found this adorable wave ring the other day! You can also head over to surf style. There are several locations all along the beach, I recommend the one south of the pier (it’s bigger). In addition, there are plenty of other small beach shops and boutiques you can find. They are all over the place!

Fuel Up
A necessity to any day trip… food! If you are visiting it may be tempting to go to Frenchy’s. Frenchy’s is a super popular beach side restaurant but the food is meh. Instead go to Crabby’s Bar and Grill. If you are looking for a delicious vegetarian option I recommend the Avocado Tacos. The avocado is deliciously fried but to make it even better ask for a side of mango salsa! My family also likes the coconut shrimp.

After my family and I ate we headed home. If you are looking for some dessert you can find a local shop that sells salt water taffy. It is so good! Most of the time you can see them pulling the taffy through the window as well.
Happy Traveling!

I hope you enjoyed my short little day trip to Clearwater Beach. Although its a busy spot, it is a definite must see even if you are only there for a little bit! Looking for other spots to travel to in the sunshine state? Check out my Florida Keys Travel Guide!
